Women Members of Parliament call for inclusivity in the Building Bridges Initiative Report

Women MPs under the Inua Mama umbrella, who are allied to Deputy President William Ruto have promised to oppose the BBI report if it does not consider women needs and wants.

Led by Kandara MP Alice Wahome, Nyandarua’s Faith Gitau, and Uasin Gishu’s Gladys Shollei among others, they have condemned those who attended the Naivasha meeting for not highlighting the women’s plight conclusively.

They are lamenting the scrapping off of the woman representative and pushing it to the Senate as well as the 70 nomination posts in the National Assembly.

Furthermore, they fear the independence of the judiciary will not be achieved, rolling back gains made in the country.
