Teargas as police disperse crowd protesting Eastleigh lockdown
Police were forced to lob teargas canisters to disperse crowds gathered at Mlango Kubwa seeking entry into Eastleigh.
Dozens of residents had gathered in the area protesting the cessation of movement in and out of Eastleigh amid the COVID19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, a clean up exercise is underway in Eastleigh Estate in efforts to tame the spread of the virus. Locals have joined hands to rid the streets off piles of garbage amid the coronavirus outbreak.
The government extended the cessation order until June 6 due to an increase of infections in the area.
