Africa Nazarene and Machakos Universities close as corona virus precautionary measure.
Africa Nazarene University has suspended on-campus classes effective Monday 16th of March 2020, with access into the premises denied, this owed to the first case of Corona virus being reported in Kenya.
Vice Chancellor Dr Stanley Bhebhe says this is as a precautionary measure and will apply to both the main and Nairobi campuses, seeing that contact trace identified by officials includes Ongata Rongi. End of January Trimester exams for all modes of learning will consequently be rescheduled.
Distance learning will however continue as scheduled. Meanwhile students who are boarding have been requested to check out between today and Monday 12.30 PM.
Similary Machakos University has also closed shop indefinitely, with students told to clear out by Sunday.
Meanwhile Riara University Senate has postponed the 4th Graduation Ceremony that was slated for coming Thursday until further notice.
Vice Chancellor Prof Robert Gateru however says classes will continue as usual.
